Miller Creek Rain Garden

Built to treat roof runoff before it enters Miller Creek. We use a blended mix of sand and compost to allow for seepage into the 3/4″ rock that helps disperse water into the ground before it can reach the creek.

Eroding banks and braided channels

After the June 2012 flood waters had receded a once thriving river was left with eroding banks, a braided channel and very little habitat.

The plan

Using a combination of techniques including Toewood, J-hooks, and Boulders Clusters we were able to reestablish a healthy channel with an abundance of new fish habitat.
